Message from the Principal

Faseeg_350 The first term has passed extraordinarily quickly, but a lot has happened in that period. The March controlled tests have been completed, and they will give parents/guardians a fair idea of the kind of progress which their children are making academically. Our teachers need to be commended for the effort (for example, the afternoon and weekend classes) they have put in to offer our learners a quality, well-rounded education.

We had a number of highlights in the first term. Our softball team really made us very proud in not only winning the inter-school softball league, but also achieving the rare honour of representing not only our school, but the province, in the national inter-school softball tournament which took place in Port Elisabeth. Well done to our softball team! Our outing to Water Park was greatly enjoyed by our learners and teachers, and was both a financial and social success. Our athletics team also performed with great credit in the very tough and highly competitive B-Section of the inter-school athletics competition. Our dance learners have also done extremely well and won the competition in which they participated.

News on the staff front is that a part-time counsellor (who will be on duty 4 mornings a week), an extra librarian as well as 3 additional sports coaches will be appointed in the second term. Ms Ajouhaar, the Afrikaans and LO teacher, has taken early retirement and will be replaced by Mr Misrole.

We look forward to a great second term, whether on the academic, sporting or cultural front.
